The G36 is a German assault rifle that uses a 5.56x45mm cartridge designed in the 1990s to replace the 7.62mm G3 battle rifle. It is gas operated and can be used with a 30 round box magazine or a 100 round C-Mag drum magazine.

The German defense manufacturing company, Heckler & Koch, officially licensed Ares Airsoft to manufacture three variants of the G36 into Airsoft Electric Guns – the G36, G36k and G36c. Ares never intended to disappoint the guys from Heckler & Koch so their replica designs are great.

All the G36 series are made from nylon fiber-zinc alloy compound and are blowback designed to add realism when firing. Their fire selector switch and magazine release switch are ambidextrous (can be used by a left or right hand oriented person). The charging lever is also ambidextrous because it can be moved to the left or right hand side. There is also a charging handle catch switch that holds the charging handle for adjusting the hop up system.

The G36 is an all round assault rifle but is best used for Close Quarter Battles or CQBs. It has a foldable stock that can be folded to the right side of the rifle. Rails are attached on both sides of the front and bottom of the barrel and another one on top for upgrades like red dot sights, reflex sights and flashlight (which is particularly important on CQBs).

The G36k can be used on the field or CQBs. Although it is longer than the G36, the foldable stock makes the G36k adaptable for Close Quarter Battles. Unlike the G36, the G36k does not come with side rails (even ways to attach one) but justified them with a built-in 3x zoom scope along with a carry handle. The top rail is still there for red-dot sights.

The G36c is much more like the G36k, with a bayonet lug. It is not built for CQBs due to its length and weight, it does, however, have a built-in red dot sight and a bi-pod for firing support. Just like the G36k, a 3x zoom scope, a carrying handle and foldable stock are still present.

Internally, the gearbox of all G36s comes with a full cylinder making the muzzle velocity increase as the barrel length increase. Muzzle velocity of each rifle are; G36c = 350fps, G36k = 380 fps, & G36 = 420 fps. Another thing to note is that this is no cheap airsoft electric gun, it’s pretty pricey but you get what you paid for in my honest opinion.
